If you’d like to get in some golfing while in London, there’s enough choice to be had, starting from golf courses in and around London to those a couple of hours away. The courses closer to London are fantastic championship layouts like Sunningdale, Walton Heath, West Hill and Addington, many of them heathland courses.
However, the fabulous triad of Royal Cinque Ports, Royal St.George’s and the Prince’s Golf Club is worth a two hour short trip from London. Some of these London & Around golf clubs have on-site accommodation and stay & play here is a good short break option.

The Prince’s Lodge on site accommodation is a good one to consider while planning a trip to play famous golf courses.
This is a fabulous links layout and should be combined with Royal St.George's & Prince's Golf Club.
Many consider the Old and New Courses at Sunningdale Golf Club to be the best 36 holes option to be found anywhere.
This is a course that you don’t have to drive too far out to get to as it’s located about 12-13 miles from the centre of London.
Comprising the Old & the New Courses, Walton Heath is a heathland course located at an elevation of about 700 feet roughly 20 miles south of London in Surrey.
There are 3 courses at Wentworth, about an hour’s drive from Central London.
This is another fantastic heathland course that makes for a challenging round of golf.
