The old course at Royal Troon, Scotland, originally conceived in a pub, emerged from the shadows of its illustrious neighbour, Prestwick to become an Open Championship venue. Built in the traditional out and back links course mould, Royal Troon golf club features the longest and shortest holes in the Open Championships. The shortest – the 8th par 3 at 123 yards has a pitching area so small that it is called The Postage Stamp. The real challenge though starts at the turn – considered the most demanding back nine amongst the Open courses. A real beauty and a beast to play!
