The abundance of golf courses in Khao Yai, where the UNESCO World Heritage National Park is situated is quite astounding. As many as 10 properties make up the Khao Yai golf course landscape. The climate, the serenity and the splendid nature are the biggest draws for golfing and non golfing tourists alike.
Rancho Charnvee, Mountain Creek and Toscana Valley must count amongst the top golf courses in Khao Yai. The qualifier “amongst” is much needed as any such listing of best golf courses in Khao Yai will invite debate.
Regardless, Rancho Charnvee Country Club features a well maintained Bob McFarland designed layout, which appeases golfers of all handicap levels. Toscana Valley, also by Bob McFarland is situated inside the national park, making for a unique golfing experience. Nothing however, beats the challenge at Mountain Creek, designed by the one and only Seve Ballesteros.
Golf clubs in Khao Yai, just like other golf destinations, outside Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin and Phuket offers fantastic value. For now it is the local Thais who form the main traffic at these golf courses. The proximity to Bangkok means that weekend golf tends to get busy. But, it is generally never busy enough at the Khao Yai golf clubs. Although it must be pointed out that Toscana Valley is closed on weekends.
