  VIEW MAURITIUS GOLF HOLIDAYS

Staying true to its image of a luxury holiday destination, Golf in Mauritius is best experienced as “stay & play” at indulgent 5 star golf resorts that have courses designed by the likes of Ernie Els, Bernhard Langer and Hugh Baiocchi. Much has been done to entrench Mauritius as a golf destination and it now has close to 12 golf courses spread across the island, many of them of championship quality. The island’s tropical magic of azure blue seas, white sands and stunning scenery has been used as a perfect setting and resulted in properties like the Le Touessrok Golf Course which sits on an island of its own, the Anahita Golf Course with mountains in the background and ocean frontage, the Belle Mare Plage’s classic courses and more.

A holiday in Mauritius is not just about languid days on the beach. If you’ve had your fill of snorkelling, diving, fly fishing, Catamaran sailing and other water sports, Mauritius’ cities are waiting to be explored. Port Louis colonial heritage, sights and fusion culture are a must-see as is Grand Baie to the north of the island, best known to throw a good party. Close to Grand Baei is the Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens with serene gardens and the large tortoises. In the south, Le Morne Peninsula is a popular coastal stop. Travelling inland past sugarcane plantations and mountain scenery, hiking trails abound in the Black River Gorges National Park and Chamarel Falls are worth a visit for the coloured earth landscape.

Plan holidays to Mauritius between May and November when the temperatures range from 20 to 25 degrees Celsius. It gets warmer from December through April and travel is still okay though January and February see rains and all outdoor activities take a hit.
