The Royal Melbourne Golf Club was founded in 1891 and the two famous 18 hole courses (West Course & East Course) of the Club were designed by two different designers. This club had hosted several tournaments including both National and Internatonal championships including The World Cup, The presidential Cup and The Australian Open etc. This is a private Member's club but visitors are allowed subject to certain terms.
The West course of The Royal Melbourne Golf Club, Australia was designed by well known Scottish Designer, Dr Alister MacKenzie. He started work on the course in 1926 and completed by 1931. Now this course is the No.1 golf course in Australia and is ranked no. 6 in the world. The East course was built by Alex Russell and this is among top ten golf courses in Australia.
