Stone Quarry Course, at the latest mega golf club in the country, Mission Hills Haikou, has been the choice of destination for professional golfers and celebrities. Stone Quarry, being one of the 10 Schmidt-Curley designed golf courses in Mission Hills, is a tribute to Pete-Dye, mentor to the Schmidt-Curley team. This course displays adaptations from his designs, like, the railroad tie sleepers, abrupt mounds, and moguls, long sandy waste bunkers, devilish sometimes small greens and rail-road car bridges. The course is built among ancient volcanic quarry supported by steep rock walls and timbers, making it all the more wild and dramatic. It thus demands shots made with great strength and provides a welcoming option to many of today's long courses.
