Another HS Colt masterpiece, the Dunluce links here is the only course in Ireland to have hosted the British Open in 1951, won by Max Faulkner who was the last British Golfer to win until Tony Jacklin won in 1969.The course itself is characterized by demand for clever play rather than bombing long shots. Many par4s below 400 yards and all four par 5s below 500 yards. One of the most famous par3s in the world finds place in this course, the 205 yard Calamity set along the rigde of a deep chasm and requiring a Jack Nicklaus or God to hit this one on the green with a One iron! The neighbouring Valley links is also a very interesting test of Golf and worth playing with a unique character of its own.
Yes! I'm writing this...so that you can count it as an awesome review, not some computer spamming! |
