Royal Liverpool Golf Club Overview
The 2014 Open Championship venue, Royal Liverpool Golf Club in England is also referred to as Hoylake – the town in which it is located. One of the oldest links courses in the country, in 2014, it will host the Open Championship for the 12th time; the last time was in 2006, won by Tiger Woods. Overlooking the Irish Sea, the Royal Liverpool golf course is a brutal links course with the wind capable of wreaking havoc. So conscious of the hazards on the course was Tiger, in his victory – he took the driver out of the bag only once, even with no wind!
