Ian Woosnam’s second championship course in Bulgaria, Pirin Golf & Country Club gets its name from the nearby Pirin mountains and is located close to Bulgari’s biggest ski resort, Bansko. The combination of golf and skiing that Pirin golf club's location offers makes it immensely popular. The setting is beautiful with snow-capped mountains in the background and streams running through the course. Wind is a major factor here as are the 80 bunkers around the course. A second 5 hole Pine course has also come up now complementing the existing facilities. Pirin golf course is roughly a 2 hour drive from Sofia, so stay and play is a good option to go with, apart from it being a well-equipped resort.
