Considered the first international design in Cambodia, the Phokeethra Country Club, which is a part of the Sofitel Angkor has hosted the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open three times, the last time in 2009, with winners including prominent golfers such as Thongchai Jaidee who won in 2008. The 18 hole 7145 yard course offers a unique treat to golfer of all abilities with sweeping fairways and generous greens. There are natural lagoons and sand traps that provide a challenge to golfers, demanding raising of the game. This is a good mix of tricky par 3s, individual par 4s and par 5s which require skill both to get the distance and accuracy.
