OVERVIEW

Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City as it is known is truly and very palpably the heart of Vietnam. It leaves zillions of images in the head : the resilience of the people during the war, on evidence at the Cu Chi tunnels; the beautiful French architecture in the city centre; the quaintly narrow and high houses, oddly interspersed with high rises; the rampant street side cafes, the battalion of bandit lookalike riders into you from everywhere and undeniably, the exciting nightlife. To add to this, is a shopping experience that is refreshingly different – silk, lacquer, handicrafts and contemporary art to choose from to add to your home decor.

Beyond the sights of HCMC, a day trip gets you to see the subsistence that the great Mekong provides in the Delta. Short trips to Vung Tao, Mui Ne and a short flight to Nha Trang all superb beach towns and to Dalat, South Vietnam’s coffee centre and hill station can be done.

HCMC and all towns named above are home to excellent golf courses. A minimum of 10 different high quality golf courses can be experienced in the South and as many as at least 6 around HCMC. Need Time!

BEST TIME TO GOLF IN HO CHI MINH & THE SOUTH: The best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City & the south of Vietnam is from December to May when it is quite dry and with an average temperature of 32 degrees C. The months of April & May can however get hot and the temperatures could rise to 35 degrees C. The rains start from June and continue through to November. However most of the rainfall is during the afternoon and they are shorts bursts so it does not necessarily spoil your entire day.
