Beyond being one of the largest cities in the world and being strategically located on “both” Asia and Europe, Istanbul is one of the most enchanting places in the world. This is hardly surprising given the cultural hyperdose it received as it blossomed and transited in the phases starting from Byzantium to Constantinople to finally Istanbul, featuring the Roman, Byzantine, Latin and Ottoman Empires.

Consequently and otherwise there is no shortage of remarkable experiences in Istanbul – at the Taksim square, at the iconic Hagia Sophia, at the architecturally diverse Topkapi Palace, at the amazing Grand Bazaar or while watching the mesmerising Whirling Dervishes, on a cruise in the Bosphorus, noticing the differences in the Asian and European banks or while partying away at the night club Reina.

Golf in Istanbul is definitely an option - it features some golf courses albeit limited, to add to the incredible attractions on offer. So if the trip to Turkey is only about Istanbul and golf must feature, it can be done. But if there were more time on hand, an hour and half flight to Antalya to play multiple world class courses in Belek on the Mediterranean would do absolutely no harm!

BEST TIME TO GOLF IN ISTANBUL: Plan holidays to Istanbul during the months of April – May and September and October when the temperatures are moderate & pleasant. Istanbul’s winters can get cold & rainy with just a little bit of snow. The summers are hot & humid.

Type of Climate in Istanbul: Mediterranean Climate
