If you pick the four courses of Siam Country Club for a Pattaya golf tour, you have done well. The recent addition of the Schmidt-Curley designed Rolling Hills fortifies Siam Country Club\u2019s position as Pattaya\u2019s top golf destination. Further, the quality of all four tracks is arguably compelling enough to obviate the need to seek other Pattaya golf courses. Even, if you disagree with that, you cannot but agree that Siam Country Club greatly enhances the Pattaya golf scene.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 50 year Old, Oldest Pattaya Golf Course<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The Old Course<\/span><\/a>, which incredibly dates back 50 years to 1970, is the\u00a0 oldest amongst the Pattaya golf courses. Originally designed by I.Izumi, the course went through major refurbishments by Schmidt-Curley in 2006. The massive mature trees on the course are a key highlight as well as challenge on the golf course. The 101 bunkers that are in play also add to the challenge on this classic parkland Pattaya golf track. The fact that it has hosted the Honda LPGA tournament 11 times out of the last 12 is testament to its offering.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Siam<\/p>\n

The 27 Hole Plantation Course, A Must in Pattaya golf<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The Plantation course<\/span><\/a> with its 3 sets of Nines – Tapioca, Pineapple and Sugarcane opened in 2008. A Schmidt-Curley design, the track is quite sensational and like the Old Course, a \u201cmust\u201d in a <\/span>Pattaya golf experience<\/span><\/a>. Stark elevation changes and exceptional contouring on and off the greens are the key design elements on a stunningly beautiful golf course. Many returning golfers keep the Plantation course as a constant, while deciding on their Pattaya golf courses mix.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Waterside<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The third of the Siam Country Club courses to open was the Waterside course in 2014, designed by IMG. The design and layout is a departure from the Old and Plantation courses, adding to the variety in Pattaya golf. This <\/span>Waterside course<\/span><\/a> is set on a flatter track in contrast to the hilly layouts of the other two courses. However, as evident in its name, there is plenty of water in play on the golf course. Some may criticize it\u2019s one-dimensional design, but the course condition is as good as any of the top Pattaya golf courses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Keep on Rolling with Rolling Hills<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

The last 18 holes of the 81-hole Si<\/span>am Country Club belong to Rolling Hills<\/a> which opened in January 2020.\u00a0 Designed by Schmidt-Curley ( yes, yet again), the course is yet to receive many golfers, especially considering the coronavirus period clash. However, the few who have played it, including the author, have been left impressed by the layout. The contoured layout and elevation changes, especially with green approaches make it a superb challenge and fulfilling Pattaya golf experience. As more people play here, Rolling Hills will establish its reputation amongst Pattaya golf courses<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As mentioned earlier, not all have to agree with the assessment that these four Pattaya golf courses are the best. However, if the question is – Will you be disappointed having picked these 4 for your Pattaya golf outing – the answer is an emphatic no. Then again, it depends on how you plan your golf courses. If you plan six different courses to play over a weeklong <\/span>Pattaya golf holiday<\/span><\/a>, then these four must be on it.\u00a0 However, if it\u2019s three or four, then a healthy debate could provide the answer.
