Bangkok Golf Holiday: The Best Golf Experience in the World

The Not So Unmentionable Bangkok Golf Holiday

Bangkok may well be that place on the planet, where if you go, you don’t want to mention it. Unless of course you are going on a Bangkok golf holiday. Oops, did I say golf before saying you can also mention it if you go with your partner? Jokes aside, there is much beyond the usual escapades that the Big Mango offers. For the golfer, Bangkok golf courses, Thai food, Thai massage and great bars may just be enough.

Everyone in Bangkok is on a Holiday

Before I get to the Bangkok golf courses, there is plenty else to talk about. The mega city seems to be bursting at its seams and thriving in the resulting chaos. A quick stroll on one of the “Sois” in Sukhumvit exposes you to the cross-section of Bangkok. Food vendors selling stuff whose taste holds true to its exotic looks. People flocking at fruit vendors for their post meal dessert. Busy restaurants with tourists gorging on a spicy Pad Thai with a Chang to wash it all down. An elderly male getting a pedicure in a one seat salon. Or an inviting hour-long Thai massage for less than 10 dollars. A sports bar showing live action with all the beers on tap that you could hope for. A nightclub just as it prepares for the party makers. Everyone in Bangkok seems to be on a holiday, just like you.

The Best Golf “Experience” in the World?

To the uninitiated, it may come as a surprise that there are roughly 60 golf courses in and around Bangkok. Some of these Bangkok golf courses are of the highest international standards in terms of layout and conditioning. A group of golfers could easily spend a week here playing a different high-quality course each day. However, what sets a Bangkok golf holiday apart is the quality of service and hospitality. It is unlikely that you will have a golf “experience” of this standard, anywhere else in the world.

This is what you call Service

Those who have been on a Bangkok golf holiday cannot wait to go back. It’s not everywhere that you don’t have to handle your golf clubs except when you are playing your shot. You could even lazily extend your hand out to grab the club that you need to make the shot. Or not. The caddie may just bring it to you and wrap your fingers around it. It is only when you are loading your golf bag on the airport trolley that the stark reality hits you. You have just been spoilt by the hospitality and the service of the Bangkok golf courses. Forgetting to rake the bunker may just be something that happens when you are back playing at your home course.

Any time is good for a Bangkok Golf Holiday? Not Really

A Bangkok golf holiday is a “go” all year round, although some prefer to avoid the warmer April and May. The rains during the monsoon can be unpredictable although a game being washed out is rare. So, if that is a concern then June through August is best avoided. It has to be said though that the best deals from the Bangkok golf courses are during these months. If you are more of the experience seeker, then the best time has to be between December to February. Not only the weather is relatively more pleasant, the courses are also at their best.
