New Zealand Golf Information

New Zealand is a great golfing destination as you will find yourself playing amidst breathtaking scenery of snow-capped mountains, lakes, forest, or sea scapes. There are more than 400 golf courses around the country and you can always find courses to play on no matter which season you arrive in New Zealand. Visitors are always welcome and green fees are surprisingly reasonable. New Zealand was named the "Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year" in 2002 by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators.

Two courses in New Zealand are listed in the Golf Digest World Top 50 rankings - Kauri Cliffs & Cape Kidnappers.

New Zealand Fast Facts

You can fly in to New Zealand through Australia and most airports in South East Asia including Singapore. Most international flights fly into Auckland, which is in North Island & Christchurch which is a good starting point for the South Island.

You can play golf in New Zealand throughout the year.

  • September to November & March to May are the warmer months and great for outdoor exploration and activities. (Max Daytime Temp: 10 to 25 degrees)
  • December to February time is summer in New Zealand  and is a time for many events. (Max Daytime Temp: 10 to 25 degrees)
  • June to August is skiing high season. Only a few courses in the South Island may be affected by snow during this time. (Max Daytime Temp: 5 to 18 degrees)
