OVERVIEW

Ko Samui or Samui as the locals call it is the third largest island in Thailand after Phuket and Ko Chang, situated off the east coast, in the Gulf of Thailand. The island, rich in nature with beaches, vegetation and coral reefs is a big tourist attraction. The main or central part of the island is made up of dense and mountainous terrain serving as an incredible backdrop to the pristine beaches. With the development of tourist and resorts on all sides of the island, this is now an ideal place to relax, rejuvenate and soak up the sun.

Golfing in such locations is a bonus and the terrain here is ideal for high quality layouts. The island features 3 golf courses, which are laid out in a woody and mountainous area, making for challenging golf given the lies and the dense vegetation to factor. Regardless of the challenge, getting out on such layouts is a pleasant experience if one can take eyes off the ball for a bit and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds.

Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways from Bangkok, Silk Air from Singapore and Firefly from Kuala Lumpur operate direct flights to Ko Samui island.
