Argentina evokes a wanderlust that is hard to explain.  It could be the marvellous and contrasting imagery of the country’s natural landscapes. It is after all rare to find such varied terrains all in one nation – the subtropical area to the north, home to Iguazu Falls, the striking Andes, wild Patagonian steppes, the Pampas, a beautiful lake district, large swathes of green forests, wetlands and glacial ice towers in the south. Or it could be the irresistible call of Buenos Aires. The city has an Euro-Latino allure (and in fact, the whole nation does) that comes alive with Tango, a gourmet cuisine, the best party spots and fashionable people.

With a country so varied, the golf is varied too and is spread across the country. Golf in Argentina is found in Buenos Aires, in Mar del Plata, in Patagonia and Mendonza. Buenos Aires has a big share of the country’s top ranking courses like the Buenos Aires Golf Club, Olivos, Jockey Club and Nordelta. A short flight from the capital is the party town of Mar del Plata and it’s championship links courses.  In Patagonia’s Bariloche and San Martin, find lake sided courses with excellent views of the Andes. Mendoza, seat of Argentina’s wine region has some fantastic courses too. Golf in Buenos Aires combined with that in Mendoza and Patagonia is a popular itinerary as visitors are inevitably following the tourist and adventure trail.
